Aerospace actuator under test

A large enclosure fitted in 2021 , to enclose a section of landing gear with a long

range of movement .

Here it is shown working with an internal temperature of minus 60 degrees Celsius . The floor area and the rear wall are insulated with nylon and Celotex type sheet cladding . The jacket is firmly attached by bolted steel strip to floor and rear wall.

We would expect this to remain under test for a number of months , constantly cycling between -60 and +135 Celsius . The flexible ducts from above attach to the air handing unit to supply and return hot and cold air.

There are several opening hatches to enable the rig operator to access the equipment.
